The 4 Phases of Your Menstrual Cycle and How to Work With Them
Ever feel like you’re a different person every week? One day you’re smashing your to-do list, the next you can’t even decide what to eat. That’s not a personality flaw—it’s your menstrual cycle.
Understanding the four phases of your cycle can help you stop fighting against your energy levels and actually work with them instead.
The 4 Phases of Your Cycle (and What They Mean)
💥 Follicular Phase (Your Fresh Start) (Days 6-14)
You feel more energetic, social, and ready to take on the world.
Best time for brainstorming, planning, and trying new things.
🔥 Ovulation (Peak Power Mode) (Days 14-18)
Confidence is high, communication is easy, and you feel magnetic.
Best time for meetings, networking, and big decisions.
🌙 Luteal Phase (PMDD Alert!) (Days 18-28)
Mood swings, fatigue, and sensitivity kick in (this is when PMDD can show up).
Best time for setting boundaries, slowing down, and self-care.
🌑 Menstrual Phase (Rest & Reset) (Days 1-5)
Energy is at its lowest—your body wants rest and reflection.
Best time for journaling, letting go of what’s not working, and deep self-care.
How to Sync Your Life with Your Cycle
Plan big tasks during ovulation & follicular phases
Give yourself grace during your luteal phase (schedule more downtime)
Menstrual phase = permission to rest, not push through
When you work with your cycle, everything starts to feel easier. You’re not lazy. You’re not unmotivated. You’re just following your body’s natural rhythm.
