FAQs - Menstrual Cycle Coaching with Laurie Jones
What is menstrual cycle coaching?
Menstrual cycle coaching helps you understand the physical, emotional, and energetic shifts that happen throughout your menstrual cycle. By learning how to live and work in tune with your cycle, you can stop fighting against your hormones and start using them as a source of power.
I teach you how to track your cycle, recognise your patterns, and use each phase to your advantage - whether that’s for productivity, self-care, or relationships.
Who is menstrual cycle coaching for?
Cycle coaching is for anyone who menstruates and wants to feel more balanced, calm, and in control.
It’s especially supportive if you struggle with PMS or PMDD, feel like your moods take over each month, or find yourself stuck in burnout and frustration before your period.
You don’t need to have a diagnosis - just curiosity about how your cycle affects your life.
What is PMDD and how can coaching help?
PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder) is a severe form of PMS that can cause intense mood changes, depression, anger, anxiety, or overwhelm in the two weeks before your period.
Through coaching, we focus on helping you understand your unique PMDD patterns, track your triggers, and build daily tools to support your emotional and physical wellbeing.
I won’t promise to “fix” PMDD - but I’ll help you reconnect with your body, feel more grounded, and create a rhythm that works for you rather than against you.
What’s the difference between PMS coaching and PMDD coaching?
PMS coaching focuses on easing the typical premenstrual symptoms — mood swings, fatigue, low motivation, or irritability - while PMDD coaching goes deeper into the emotional and mental challenges that come with a PMDD diagnosis.
Both approaches use the same foundation of cycle awareness, but PMDD coaching is more focused on emotional resilience and self-compassion through your luteal phase.
What happens in a coaching session?
Each session is an hour of dedicated space for you.
We talk about what’s coming up in your current cycle, explore patterns, and use practical tools - like journaling, nervous system support, and lifestyle shifts — to help you feel more at ease.
You’ll leave each call with insight and small, realistic steps to try before our next session.
How many sessions do I need?
Most clients start with a 3-month or 6-month coaching package with two sessions per month.
This gives you time to work through a few cycles, recognise your patterns, and see real change.
You can extend or adjust the frequency depending on your goals and what feels right for you.
Do you offer online coaching?
Yes - all sessions are held online via Zoom, so you can work with me from anywhere in the world.
Many clients find that being in their own space helps them open up and reflect more deeply.
Do you work with clients outside the UK?
Yes. While I’m based in the UK, I work with clients internationally.
All sessions are held online, and payments are taken securely through Stripe, so you can book from wherever you are.
Is menstrual cycle coaching a replacement for therapy or medical treatment?
No. Coaching isn’t therapy or medical advice.
It’s a complementary approach that focuses on self-awareness, emotional wellbeing, and lifestyle changes to support your cycle.
If you’re under medical care for PMS or PMDD, coaching can sit beautifully alongside that to help you put what you learn into practice day-to-day.
What results can I expect from menstrual cycle coaching?
You can expect to:
Understand your cycle phases and how they affect your mood and energy
Feel calmer and more grounded before your period
Build daily routines that support your hormones
Learn to work with your cycle instead of against it
Feel more compassionate towards yourself during tough phases
Every client’s journey is different, but the goal is the same: to feel empowered by your cycle, not controlled by it.
What’s the difference between menstrual cycle coaching and life coaching?
Menstrual cycle coaching blends life coaching with cycle awareness - meaning we look at your goals, habits, and mindset through the lens of your hormonal rhythm.
It’s not just about achieving more - it’s about aligning your energy, focus, and self-care with your body’s natural flow.
Do I need to have a regular period to work with you?
Not at all. Many people come to coaching with irregular cycles, missing periods, or are transitioning off hormonal contraception.
We’ll work with where you are right now - tracking your symptoms and reconnecting with your body’s signals, even if your cycle isn’t consistent yet.

What if I’m not sure coaching is right for me?
That’s totally fine. You don’t have to decide right away.
You can book a free chat to ask questions and see if we’re a good fit - no pressure or awkward sales talk, just an honest conversation about where you’re at and what you need.
Can coaching really help with PMDD or PMS symptoms?
Yes - while coaching isn’t a medical treatment, many of my clients find that understanding their cycle and building supportive habits reduces the intensity of symptoms.
By tracking your triggers, managing your energy, and working with your body rather than against it, you can start to feel more balanced and less at the mercy of your hormones.
What tools or techniques do you use in your coaching?
I draw on a mix of cycle tracking, mindfulness, nervous system regulation, journaling, and practical habit shifts.
Each session is tailored to you - no cookie-cutter plans, just gentle structure, awareness, and accountability that fit your life.
How do I know if you’re the right coach for me?
If you’re ready to stop feeling at war with your cycle and want someone who gets what living with PMS or PMDD is really like - we’ll probably get on.
I bring lived experience, humour, and grounded guidance to help you find balance without the fluff.
